Paranormal 3 hit theaters everywhere last weekend and made an explosive debut, not only breaking the horror record for biggest opening night ever, but it beat biggest opening in fall! So why wouldn’t I want to go see it? I mean the trailer for the movie looked wicked intense, what could go wrong? oh boy how i was wrong. First off, %95 of the scenes in the trailer, was nowhere in the actually movie. The story line they gave the series of movies is pretty bad. Trying to include an ancient pact and Covenant to explain why the demons are getting to them. The story behind the house being burnt down was never told, and “key” points were spoon fed to the viewer as if they were saying “okay now this is going to happen, do not ask any questions.” The movie did not disappoint with the jump scares, it happen plenty of those, some tasteful, some well not so tasteful. Going back to the trailer, I think it would have been great with the story they were hinting at with the trailer, other than what they went with. Without going into details and ruining the movie for someone, I can’t really say what really got under my skin. Maybe in my next post I’ll look at the 3 movies as a whole. But anyway, it’s an alright movie in the end.
Here is a little horror news today, a new horror film is up for sale at AFM. The Film is called The Lost Coast Tapes. The films all set and ready to go as soon as some one picks it up and pays for it, production on the project is all set and it already has a startling movie poster with it that sports their tagline “It doesn’t like being called a hoax.” according to the IMDb synopsis, an investigative journalist picks up a documentary film crew and goes on the search for Sasquatch after a Bigfoot hunter claims to posses the body of a dead. The film is shot like many before it using POV. It sounds like a pretty cool movie, but with all the Sasquatch ads for beef Jerky and the rednecks blaming Bigfoot for ating der daughter, can any one really take it serious enough? We can only hope that is so good and/or so scary that it’ll make a believe out of us. For talent the movie features to likes of Drew Rausch, Rich McDonald, Ashley Wood and many more.

George Romero is at it again, the father of the modern zombie is sights on making the book The Zombie Autopsies: Secret Notebooks from the Apocalypse into a movie. I think George Romero is a great director, I’ve been a huge fan of his orignal living dead trilogy and I was even a fan of his Diary of the Dead, but when it comes to making an adaptation of a book he understands that it’s not his own story he’s telling. George has gone on record saying he wants “to be perfectly accurate, almost shockingly so.” he said this while talking with io9. The book is writing by an actual doctor, not one of em made up folks on the telly, so he knows what he is talking about. Now as far as making zombies 100% is a little far-fetched, but the man does his best by combining science with horror fiction. This sounds like an interesting project, and it makes me kind of excited, this one I’ll have to see myself.

I wanted to state that I was going to take a wild shot at doing a blog once a day for the Post a Day Challenge. It sounds like fun but at the same time I want to get out to people and this sounds like a good way. Now I was trying to think of away to mention this and also inform, well thankfully the movie gods were looking out for me. Today it was announced that Sony Pictures now have the rights for an Assassin’s Creed movie. Assassin’s Creed is a story of a man from along line of assassins and is recruited to find out the secrets of the 2 fractions going at it, the Knights Templar and the assassins. You play as Desmond, a man of the future that must going into the Animus every game. The Animus send Desmond back to the memories of his ancient ancestors to relive their lives and find out secrets to help win the war that has been raging for centuries. The game play and story of the series is great, probably on of my favorite games. A part of me loves the idea of it becoming a movie, but then again I watch the new Resident Evil movies expecting it to get good at some point but always leave with my head down low. We can only hope. In other news, in my later post I had said Michael Bay was taking about returning to director yet another Transformers movie, but he has gone on record and has made it clear that he will not come be directing the new movie. There may be some wiggle room on maybe a producer but other than that it will be up to some one else to mold this movie, and hopefully better than Bay.

After the successful (not the greatest though) trilogy of the Autobots vs the Decepticons has been wrapped up, talks have started about working on a new story for our fellow brothers from another mother planet. I can honestly say that I was pretty surprised when talk with Michael Bay started up even though he had said that the last movie would be his final Transformers, giving room for another director to pick it up and shape the adored childhood heroes to their will. Not much has been decided but talks about shooting movies 4&5 back to back, meaning less wait time for the movies to hit theaters, not such a bad idea. Steven Spielberg is sounding to return to work on this film along with Bay Explosion but the “great” (pft) Shia LaBeouf will not be returning to be BumbleBee’s partner in crime. Giving the studio more of a chance to cash in in other departments of the franchise, also it gives the movie a chance to follow a new hero, maybe some who has actually puberty. Looks like the studio is actually looking at Jason Statham to fill in the hero shoes, I’m not really sure how I feel about that, I never really like his acting or the lack of acting and not a fan in any way of his movies. But in the end I’m not a fan of the last 2 Transformers movies or most if not all of Michael Bay’s movies either, so it looks to be up in the air at this point in time.
It has been a week since the first full trailer for Marvel’s ‘the Avengers’ hit the web, and I can I’ve watched it about 10 times already. For some one who grew up reading marvel’s great comics like me, this is almost childhood dream come true. The men and women on the great team of avengers is a great line up, actors and characters. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and of course the great Tony Stark/ Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) are just a few to name and they are all at the hands of the great Joss Whedon, who is a legend when it comes to everything nerdy. The team is formed by Nick Fury to fight the battles that no other single man can fight. They join forces to fight the evil Loki, and it seem Loki is packing a MIGHTY bite this time. I can not wait for this movie to hit theaters in May and I will be at the midnight show freaking out with excitement!
